We've been playing games around here this winter. Uno is always a favorite, though Ted keeps begging for someone to play a Sequence game with him. The other night while we were playing Uno I was taking notes to myself how these kids are maturing. Ted did not bawl when he didn't win, and he could hold all the cards in his hands dropping them or showing them off. We were drinking tea while we played. Ron has challenged these kids to Happy Meals. Sadie has to learn her multiplication tables, Sam has to read a whole book to Ron (Pancakes, Pancakes by Eric Carle) and Ted already completed his 100 grid with no backwards numbers, plus recited it to me, and now he has to learn all his sight words.
Bribed with Happy Meals! At least they are still a treat in this house.

Great idea, those Happy Meals bribes. I need to come up with a bribe for the 9yo to master her multiplication tables. A new book, maybe.
