Saturday morning Ron came home from work with 7 black garbage bags full of clothes. His coworker has quads- 3 boys and a girl. She passed their too-small clothes on to us.
YaY! I love hand-me-down bags! I have since I was a kid. The bags always held such possibilities. My kids have developed their own love for "bags."
So we spend Saturday digging through bags, and then sorting and putting away. My boys got TONS of clothes (school clothes for Sam!) and Sadie got a bunch of fresh shirts. Whatever we can't use will be passed on to others who can. (We've got lots of connections with kids :) Sam and Ted will have lots of matching clothes, which they don't mind, at least not yet. They kinda enjoy being asked if they are twins!
Most frugalites are familiar with the process of passing on what you can't use, and accepting "bags" from others. It is a great cycle- but to participate you have to be a giver and a taker. And be gracious about it too. It makes me feel good both ways- plus it is so ecological.
A big thanks to Cathy! (Ron's coworker) Even Olivia was getting into the act- pulling clothes from the bag and excitedly jabbering about it in her own language- and then she'd pause and grin a huge smile.

There is nothing like a good hand me down bag is there? Love 'em too! They are even better then a gargage sale, and that's hard to beat!
