Literally. Queenie started herding our chickens and had gotten a few mouthfuls of feathers, too.So we took her to my cousin Karen's farm a few miles away. She has lots of pasture and cattle who might need herding, too. (Queenie is part blue heeler and border collie.) Karen had previously agreed if Queenie didn't work out with us, she'd take her. Sadie, who was the "owner" of the pup, was fine with it- I think she was tired of taking care of her and her puppy ways already, even though she is so cute. We can go visit her at the farm sometime if we want. So that's the end of the puppy story.
And mom learned her lesson, which is this: puppies are a lot of work.

We tried that 2 years ago. I couldn't believe how much it took over our life. We lasted 3 or 4 months. This Spring, we got 2 kitty cats. They are SO great compared to the puppy. No barking, no pooping all over, no chewing, no digging, but still cuddly and fun for the kids. And you never have to chain them up. ~Brita
