Mr. Schmidt outdid himself again!
The Elementary program last night was fantastic and original- for instance, have you ever seen Tinkerbell at a Christmas program? There she is below- (Ted's teacher) along with Captain Hook.
And yes, it made sense that she was there-- Tinkerbell and Capt. Hook were looking for a Christmas program, along with other storybook characters- Snow White, Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, etc. - all teachers and school staff. I have to say, it really reflects on the school- the teachers and staff truly work as a team, and are willing to go outside themselves for their students, fellow staff, and for us parents- and they know how to have a good time! And this fellow- Santa on the Atkin's diet, serenaded the audience while the students were moving on and off the stage. He was super- a great voice, dry humor, and good tunes. He is a new third grade teacher this year- his first year as a teacher.
The director, music teacher Mr. Schmidt, has been doing this for 35 years! And every year the program is different.
And yes, there was a barf incident, right on stage. Last year I interviewed Mr. Schmidt, and he said it's a rare year without someone throwing up, either onstage or in the crowd, or both.
It made it all the better- it was hilarious watching the kids onstage react, holding their noses and avoiding the "spot", while the custodian came and cleaned up.
The holidays have begun!

Thanks for the memories! I would love to see another of Mr. Schmidts programs. The ones down here are very boring and politically correct. (The kindergarteners are super cute, more like up there) but the rest sing African rain songs and lame stuff like that. It's kind of sad to watch, so I'm glad someone can have a fun program still!
That is so cool! I wish we did a big ol' program here....

nervous stomach or the flu?
We couldn't figure out here why the 8th gr. girls choir divided into 2 groups with huge gap in the middle..were they going to dance? Later learned they were avoiding the barf left by boy in the boys' choir!!!Universal problem!
