My wrestlers.

This here is Sam during one of his matches. Pretty stringy looking in his singlet : )

And this. This is a view of the gymnasium, before the tournament started. The wrestlers were being weighed in, and then bracketed by weight and grade. This was at our school, last Saturday. My boys' first tournament. There were 225 kids participating in the tournament, and lots of volunteers helping to make it a successful event. It was fun, but a bit overwhelming for those who are new to it, like Ron. I can remember these kind of tournaments from when Tim was an elementary wrestler.

The rest of you can hang tight for a minute, but I am showing these photos for Grandma Betty and Grandpa Paul.
Ted with his 4th place trophy. Out of four. He was pretty proud of his trophy, even though he didn't win any matches. He worked hard for it. The deal is, Ted has to wear his patch (five days a week, for 2 hours after school) without complaint, and his reward is to be in wrestling. If it improves the vision in his weak eye, it will be totally worth it.

Sam with his second place trophy. He won two out of three matches. Sam has to willingly practice his spelling words in order to be in wrestling. The last two weeks, he has gotten perfect spelling tests. Yay! Wrestling also wears off some energy in these winter months, especially this winter, when there hasn't been much to do outside because of the lack of snow.

way to go Boyz! i like the incentive part and the fact that it wears off energy - boys need a lot of that kind of stuff.

Weird. It just hit me that your kids go to the same school I used to go to(even though I already knew that). Kind of seems like they should be going to P.R.

That's funny, Helen, I was walking the halls while the boys were practicing the other night, and I was thinking about how it's their school, but all my school memories are from PR. My M memories are from going to your games, etc, and hearing yours and other's school stories.
