Micro-vacation.

After telling you all to stay out of the stores...

I took the kids to the mall yesterday.

Lilah had an appointment to check out her orthotics (good for another six months-yay!) and then we had an open day- my kids and me in Fargo. So we went on an adventure to the mall- a cultural experience for my kids : ) they used their map reading skills to find out way around, we rode the escalators, looked at the fountains, ate lunch and visited the pet store.

After a quick swing into the big thrift store next door to the mall, we headed over to the big sports store in Fargo. We sampled all the delights there- looking at the stuffed wildlife, the boys played the shooting game and Sadie, Sam and Ted rode the full size Ferris wheel they have there. We finished the day off with discovering the playland-style playground in the kids clothing section.

It really did feel like a vacation- it was rainy, foggy and muddy outside- so an indoor day was a great way to enjoy Fargo. As Ted said "we went out of state!" on our micro-vacation.

That sounds like so much fun for the kids! Great way to make it educational and fun!
